This morning I sort of word-vomited about half of my FF feelings on Fraction because that’s how I roll. (Well, maybe like a quarter. I have a lot of feelings and we only talked for like 5-10 minutes or so, so I imagine I missed a lot of things.) I spent a lot of time going, “::hands:: FOUND FAMILY NARRATIVES, THOUGH!” and he informed me that, secretly, that’s what the “FF” really stands for.
(Come on, guys, I know that’s a favorite trope of many of the people I know. You should be reading this comic, it’s amazing.)
He showed me some art from the Pool Party issue (have I mentioned in the past twenty-four hours how badly I want to wallpaper my room with that cover?) and talked a little bit about what’s coming up and also showed me a picture of an amazing Darla cosplayer whom I bumped into on the floor a little later. That’s her above. Oh man, Darla, though!
(eta: Just to reiterate, that’s not me in the picture, that’s a Darla cosplayer I met while on line to speak with Fraction :)
I also went to a panel on graphic novels for young adults which was good, but not what I expected, as none of the participants were actual young adult writers? Just writers/artists who made books that happened to also appeal to young adults. So most of the questions/thoughts I had in preparation for the panel ended up being not-quite relevant. Still, good stuff.
